MBBS, BSc(med), FRACGP, MPH

Dr Helena Morris completed her medical degree at the University of NSW in 2005, undertaking training in Sydney and Albury. She worked as a hospital doctor in Newcastle, Tamworth and Sydney before undertaking a period of research based at King's College, London, United Kingdom. Upon her return to Australia, Helena completed a Masters of Public Health at the University of Sydney. She started working as a GP in Queensland before settling in Canberra with her family.

Helena enjoys the variety of general practice and loves getting to know her patients and their families. With her public health background, Helena has a strong focus on preventive health and firmly believes that prevention is better than cure. She also has particular interests in weight management and mental health. Helena works as a Bariatric Physician to help patients manage their weight and weight-related health problems, either as a standalone service or in conjunction with surgical options. Helena has also completed a Certificate of Sexual Health and Family Planning, and is qualified to insert both Implanon and IUD's. Outside of work Helena enjoys the outdoor lifestyle that Canberra offers, especially hiking and skiing, but is mostly kept busy by her 4 children and 3 chickens.
